The Women’s Initiative is helping women in Washtenaw County—one woman at a time. The focus for 2007 is economic self sufficiency - assisting women who are entering or re-entering the workforce.

The Initiative’s Power of the Purse campaign reflects the reality that women in our community have a strong impact on economic and quality-of-life issues.

Every year, more women join the Initiative because they understand The Power of the Purse—and how their power can help others.

The Women’s Leadership Council is committed to creating a powerful leadership network of women who strengthen our community through a focused investment of their time, talent and treasure.

- Women's Caring Club - $156-$749 (designated to the Power of the Purse)
- Women's Giving Circle - $52-$155 (designated to the Power of the Purse)
