What is the YOUNG LEADERS SOCIETY?
The mission of the Young Leaders Society is to promote and encourage the spirit of philanthropy and volunteerism among the young residents of Washtenaw County and other individuals with similar professional and community interests. Members of the United Way Young Leaders Society are committed, compassionate and generous individuals who are dedicated to making a positive impact throughout our community.
What can the YOUNG LEADERS SOCIETY offer me?
This unique and dynamic group offers its members many ways to become involved in making a difference in people’s lives in Washtenaw County. The Young Leaders Society works closely with the United Way member agencies to identify volunteer and fundraising opportunities that resonate with our group interests. In addition, by affiliating with the Young Leaders Society, members are provided with valuable networking and leadership-related events. Members will enjoy many exclusive opportunities throughout the year. There are monthly activities ranging from service projects, to social gatherings, professional development meetings, local group events, and more.
Who can become a member of the YOUNG LEADERS SOCIETY?
Community-oriented individuals, or couples, forty five years old or younger can participate in one of three ways:
- Contribute a combined annual gift of any amount to United Way of Washtenaw County, Young Leaders Society.
- Attend 10 Young Leaders Events during the course of a calendar year.
- Contribute an annual gift to United Way of Washtenaw County and perform at least 25 hours of service.
How else will the YOUNG LEADERS SOCIETY benefit me?
In addition to several fun-filled activities and events sponsored by the organization, the Young Leaders Society provides educational opportunities designed to inform members about local issues and to improve their perspective on our community. The opportunity to participate in a variety of social, networking and business related events is by invitation-only. Regular updates on issues in our community and activities of United Way are provided. Membership recognition, if desired, is available in select marketing and promotional materials. Through the Young Leaders Society, members will interact with other important local leaders and be a part of addressing the issues that matter most in our community.
