School-Aged Youth
United Way is pleased and honored to be supporting this coalition of youth-serving and community agencies who have been working very hard this year to plan and serve youth in Washtenaw County using Ready by 21’s model addressing five components::
- LEARNING: All Washtenaw County youth will have an effective education that promotes life-long learning
- THRIVING: All Washtenaw County youth will be healthy through access tor resources and practice of good health habits/li>
- WORKING: All Washtenaw County youth will have the knowledge and skills needed for the 21st century
- CONNECTING: All Washtenaw County youth will make positive choices and are safe and supported in their families and communities
- LEADING: All Washtenaw County youth will be valued contributors in the community process.
Your donation to school-aged youth allows the United Way to fund programs vital to the continued success of our children outside of the classroom. These programs focus on literacy, mentorship, and enrichment that strengthens our children’s ability to be successful in school. Without your generosity children are more likely to loss direction and drop out of school. Help strengthen our community by ensuring the existence of school-aged youth programs.
"WACY – the Washtenaw Alliance for Children and Youth, is a collaboration of over twenty-five youth serving agencies. WACY aims to make sure all of our county’s children and youth are ready for college, work and life by age 21 through a focus on learning, connecting, thriving, and leading. WACY strives to promote lifelong learning, good health and a safe and supportive community for all Washtenaw County Youth. When we invest in our youth, we invest in the future!
