2006 Campaign Coordinator Guide

Accountability

Accountability Matters! Washtenaw United Way's financial procedures and practices are reviewed annually by the all-volunteer Finance Committee, chaired by Board Treasurer Brian Miller. In addition, the organization is audited annually. The most recent audit, performed by the CPA firm of Plante and Moran, LLP, is available at the United Way offices. Washtenaw United Way's Internal Revenue Form 990 is available online through guidestar.com. Copies of the most recent annual report are also available online at wuway.org.

Financial Safeguards Matter! Washtenaw United Way has checks and balances in place to prevent misappropriation of funds. Staff duties are segregated so that no one person has access to the entire process of preparing payments or handling incoming donations.
